Who We Are

Rose Ajoke Osabiya Home for the Elderly is a non-profit organization committed to restoring dignity, care, and hope to elderly individuals across Nigeria.
An unidentified and rising crisis is unfolding around the world, particularly in developing nations such as Zimbabwe, Nigeria, and Mozambique. As populations age, social and economic structures have failed to keep up with the elderly’s needs. Millions of older persons are left without a steady income, affordable healthcare, or structured social support.
Estimates imply that up to 80% of Zimbabwe’s elderly people live under economically constrained conditions. In Nigeria, a large majority of the elderly live in poverty, with only a small percentage getting any type of pension, while in Mozambique, over a million old people experience severe financial difficulties, often dependent on subsistence living to survive.

Behind these numbers are deeply human stories.
There are aged men and women who were once teachers, traders, caregivers, and community builders who now live alone and struggle to afford food, medication, and basic care.
A large number of these individuals live in rural and underserved communities, where the challenges are considerably more severe. With migration and economic pressures eroding family support structures, aging has become a journey of solitude, neglect, and uncertainty.

To improve the well-being of elderly individuals by providing essential care, promoting social inclusion, and supporting sustainable systems that protect and uphold their dignity.
